The car part is a bracket that adapts brakes to my vehicle.
Attached are a few attempts at 3d LIDAR scans of the 2 parts I am trying to adapt to one another. One is a flat bracket with ‘ears’. The other is a brake caliper for a car.
I need the bracket wings to adjust angle to meet the bolt alignment on the caliper. You can see the current alignment in the ‘fit bracket to caliper’ images.
Additional changes I need are:
1) The wings need to extrude an additional 1/4" inch. See image ‘extrusion_area.png’. Areas circled in black should extrude an additional 1/4".
2) Top of bracket wings should match the curvature of the brake caliper mounting surface so that its a smooth attachment with the proper amount of support.
The models attached should provide the measurements needed but I can also take measurements to supplement as well as provide any through-hole measurements should the lidar scans not be enough.
My goal is to have these CNC’d out of 7075 aluminum or cold rolled steel.
I expect us to need to do multiple iterations. At each iteration I will 3d print locally and test fit, sending you back images and measurements for adjustments needed.
