Study, Design, Development of a 3D Printing for a Conveyor Belt-Like Carpet Made of Plastic Material – Upwork


We are a manufacturer of a special carpet made of stainless steel wire spirals. These carpets function as cavities, allowing condensation (maximum temperature 85°C) to pass through and act as spacers between two walls. The points of contact with these walls must have minimal surface area while maintaining maximum resistance to crushing. The mat, static and hooked onto a load-bearing frame, has significant dimensions, reaching lengths of up to 9 meters and widths of 4 meters.

We seek a cheaper and lighter solution due to market demands. Initial experiments with 3D printing using plastic filament were promising but imperfect. The project aims to refine this technique for optimal results.
Project Phases:

    Phase 1:
        Identify three valid candidates to propose ideal solutions for mass production.
        Candidates will provide printed samples (even small ones) to evaluate print quality, defects, and similarity to the current stainless-steel equivalent.

    Phase 2:
        Select two of the original candidates to submit projects for a complete printing machine, including a worktable, beam, etc., for mass production.

    Phase 3:
        Select one final candidate to design the entire system, possibly relying on third-party suppliers/companies. If the candidate cannot construct the system, we can handle it internally.

The ultimate goal is to have a fully functioning plant capable of independently producing at least one plastic carpet.

Skills Required:

    Extensive experience in 3D printing.
    Ability to tackle new challenges.

Deadline:

    Phase 1: Complete within 30 days from the date the sample is received.
    Phase 2: Complete within 30 days from the approval of the sample.
    Phase 3: According to manufacturing requirements.
