Our company is an energy consulting firm marketing primarily in the US, helping homes and businesses buy their power and gas. When we help a client enroll for electric or gas service, the supplier we place them with pays our company a fee. All those fees are deposited into our accounts, and we receive a report that details the clients those fees are being paid for. We must take each commission report we receive and reconcile the report to insure we have been paid accurately, and that we are paying other parties accurately. That is the primary responsibility of this position.
Additionally, we use a local CPA firm, but prefer that the bookkeeping be done internally. The candidate that fills this position will be responsible to maintain QuickBooks with updated entries. This will include categorizing expenses, and following other bookkeeping direction from the owner of the company and the Accounting Manager.
The candidate that fills this position will assist the owner with calculating employee bonuses each month, and calculating monies owed to 3rd party affiliates that refer clients to our firm.
In addition to the accounting tasks described above, this position will be responsible for several administrative functions, such as:
Maintaining our registration with various state agencies by scheduling when various filings need to be made, doing the research to understand how to correctly submit our filings and then making the filings, coordinating with the owner for signatures, etc.
