Freelance Accountant Needed for QuickBooks Setup and BAS/GST Filing – Upwork


I have setup a newly IT contracting company based in Melbourne, Australia, initially for side hustle but may become fulltime in future.
Seeking a freelance accountant to assist  in setting up accounting using Intuit QuickBooks.
Our primary focus is understanding the interface of QuickBooks, filing Business Activity Statements (BAS), and managing Goods and Services Tax (GST) effectively.

Responsibilities:

1. Guide me through the setup process of Intuit QuickBooks, ensuring it aligns with our business structure and requirements.
2. Guide on how to navigate and utilize the features of QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting tasks.
3. Assist in understanding BAS and GST requirements, and guide us through the filing process.
4. Advise on strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws.
5. Help establish a system for paying myself from the company, considering tax implications and optimizing for tax efficiency.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience with Intuit QuickBooks, preferably in an Australian context.
2. In-depth knowledge of Australian tax regulations, particularly regarding BAS, GST, and company taxation.
3. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex accounting concepts in simple terms.
4. Ability to work independently and provide clear guidance tailored to our specific business needs.
5. Availability for a few initial hours to set up the accounting system, with the potential for ongoing consultation as needed.

Hourly Range: $10.00-$40.00
