Job Title: Legal Assistant

Job Description:
We are a law firm in California looking for a highly organized and efficient Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting our legal team with various administrative tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operation.

Responsibilities:
File Management: Organize, manage, and maintain digital and physical legal files in a confidential and efficient manner.

Document Handling: Rename, format, and prepare legal documents and correspondence according to firm standards.

Calendaring: Keep track of important deadlines, appointments, and court dates, ensuring that the legal team is well-prepared and timely informed.

Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients and external parties, potentially answering phone calls and managing email correspondence to ensure queries are directed to the appropriate team member.

Additional Support: Assist with research, data entry, and preparation of reports as required by the legal team.
Requirements:

Educational Background: A diploma or degree in legal studies, administration, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Previous experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a similar role within a law firm is highly desirable.

Skills:
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal management software.
– Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (both written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.

Hourly Range: $6.00-$10.00
